The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that all children see an orthodontist by age seven. Early treatment of skeletal problems, such as a severe cross-bite or narrow jaw are much easier to correct when the jaw is still growing, making a second treatment — often required when patients are in their teens — easier and quicker.
